On 6th October 2024, Matthew Jenks ,Phoenix’s Key Accounts Manager, and Ross Law on our hire desk at Cardiff depot is running the Cardiff Half Marathon to raise money for Cancer Research Wales, a charity that means a lot to them both!
Cancer is one of the most heartbreaking words for anyone to hear, and it’s even harder when it’s someone close to you.
Matthews’s close family friend fell ill at the start of this year, which is when he found out he had cancer. He kept his spirits up to spend as much time as he could with his 2 young boys and his wife. Sadly, his friend passed away only a few months later.
He will be running the Marathon in his memory, and both will be running to raise money for the great charity Cancer Research Wales, whose research helps to prevent, diagnose, and treat cancer.
